This All Happened More or Less

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Title: This All Happened More or Less
Photo Credit: Dan Kuitka; Regional Arts & Culture Council; and The Southeast Examinier
Lead Artist(s):

Description:

Moments captured by these eight installations are quiet, simple and every day, mirroring familiar scenes that can occur along Division Street in Portland. The characters are isolated, yet posture, clothing and expressions reveal more about their stories while withholding full disclosure. The stones are platforms, drawing attention to the characters, while the surrounding cityscape is their stage. Although none are specific portraits, many capture the persona of people the artists met while researching and spending time getting to know the community. The episodic nature of these sculptures creates a sense of continuity, becoming an invitation not just to discover the next piece in the series but also to explore Division and all it has to offer.
