National PTA
Start the Art Week
October 8–12, 2007
The National Parent Teacher Association (PTA), the nation’s original and premier parent involvement group in schools, believes that all children deserve a quality arts education. PTA supports the arts year-round through advocacy and the PTA Reflections Program. But for one week each year, PTA spotlights the importance of arts in education. PTA Start the Art Week, October 8–12, 2007, is a national initiative designed to inspire students and families to participate in the arts and help keep the arts in schools. During the week, PTAs across the nation will be hosting events to provide students with quality arts experiences and inform families and communities of the benefits of arts education.
