David Seals

David Seals joined the staff of the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council in 2005, and he currently works on a variety of programs that serve individual artists and arts organizations in the region. He oversees two consulting programs, Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and Business Volunteers for the Arts, which connect attorneys and business professionals with arts clients who need pro bono consulting. David assists the director of arts programs with the development and implementation of more than 50 professional development workshops and forums each year, and he supports the administration of four grant programs that award nearly $400,000 annually to more than 100 grantees.

David also serves as editor and contributing writer for Update, a quarterly publication of the Arts Council, and manages production logistics for The Work of Art Awards, a biennial ceremony and performance honoring the Pittsburgh Arts Community. He sits on the national Emerging Leader Council of Americans for the Arts, is a co-founder of the Pittsburgh Emerging Arts Leaders Network, and serves on the Borough of Wilkinsburg Public Art Steering Committee. David recently joined the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh, and has served as a grantwriter and reviewer for several local nonprofits.

David holds a B.A. in English literature and Spanish language from Grove City College. He is married to Angela Seals, program manager at the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh.
