Emerging Leader Council: Operating Procedures

History
Following the 1999 Winston-Salem Arts Convocation, Americans for the Arts established the Emerging Leader Task Force to develop and implement a series of programs that would meet the needs of emerging arts leaders. Emerging leaders were discouraged by the lack of professional development opportunities available to them, and the Task Force stepped in to engage emerging leaders and help their organizations grow with both new and established leadership. The Task Force was later renamed the Emerging Leader Council (ELC), and is now an elected body comprising working professionals from across the country advised by Americans for the Arts staff.
