Art for Architecture
This innovative program, housed at the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, funded collaborations between artists and architects or other design professionals, acting "as a catalyst for collaborative ventures...the emphasis is on collaboration, allowing artist and architect equal status within a design team from the initial stages of a project." The program stopped funding projects in March 2004, but their website remains a great resource about the projects they initiated. For information visit www.rsa-afa.org.uk.

This nonprofit organization collaborates with Virginia Tech on the Community Arts Network (www.communityarts.net) to gather and disseminate information about community arts activities and all that intersects with the public interest. APInews is their monthly e-newsletter, which you can subscribe to for free on the website. Their website contains reading room ofcommunity arts related articles written for their site, tools and resources about creating, producing, and evaulating art in the public interest. This website is a portal for public art information, and is especially usefull for projects in Europe.There is a membership fee to obtain access to all the website offers of 180 euros per year. www.art-public.com.

ArtistsRegister.com
This online slide registry and resource center is a service of WESTAF (Western States Artist Federation). The slide registry is well-organized and easy to use. Their services include postings of artist opportunities, a monthly listserv bulletin, community discussion bulletin boards, and the sale of artist mailing lists. This organization sells and distributes quality slides of over 6000 images of public art, architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design. They maintain an easy to use online database. They sell both individual slides as well as collections of slides on a certain topic, such as temporary public art in gardens. The Arts Resource Network is a service provided by the Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, formerly the Seattle Arts Commission. Center for Arts and Culture
The Center for Arts and Culture was founded in 1994 inWashington DC to inform and improve policy decisions that affect cultural life. The guiding principles of that mission include freedom of imagination, inquiry and expression, as well as freedom of opportunity for all to participate in a vital and diverse culture. The Center commissions research, holds public roundtables, and publishes new voices and perspectives on the arts and culture. Through the Art, Culture & the National Agenda project, the Center identified seven areas where policies intersect with cultural issues: law, globalization, access, preservation, community, investment, and education. Cultural Policy & the Arts National Data Archive (CPANDA)
Is an interactive, web-accessible digital archive of policy-relevant data on culture and the arts. The CPANDA initiative is designed to help policymakers, journalist, scholars and others gain easy access both to current research findings and to previously hard-to-find data on the arts, including public opinion on the arts, city-specific data and recently released statistics. The Phoenix Arts Commission maintains an onlinelist and e-newsletter of public art opportunities. It lists artist opportunities, information about projects in Arizona, public art job listings, and general information of interest to the field. Municipal Art Society/Urban Books
The Municipal Art Society is a nonprofit organization in New York City that presents exhibitions, lecture series' and walking tours, develops publications and public programming on the topics of architecture, urban planning, public art, and design. They also administer the Adopt-A-Monument and Adopt-A-Mural programs to secure private funding to rescue public art from deterioration and enable the restoration and continuing maintenance of these irreplaceable treasures. Urban Center Books is the Society's architecture specialty bookstore located in the Urban Center. Ocean State Lawyers for the Arts (OSLA)
This organization was founded in 1984 as the Rhode Island affiliate of a nationwide network of non-profit public service organizations dedicated to providing legal assistance to visual artists, actors, performers, theatre companies, museums, dance troupes, artists' groups and any other artists or arts organizations in need of help regarding contracts, copyrights, trademarks, tax-exempt status, collection of accounts and any other arts-related problems. Public Art Research Archive
This site is organized by Dave Ball of Sheffield Hallam University in Sheffield, UK. It contains extensive links to public art organizations worldwide, articles, and case studies. A good launching point for researching programs outside of the United States. Visit http://public-art.shu.ac.uk/.

This organization runs an informative, well organized, and nicely designed website, www.publicartonline.org.uk. Itis a central resource for public art information in the UK and beyond. It contains an advice section with a number of short reports on topics including funding, collaborations, and the artist selection process, a debate bulletin board, a listing of opportunities, public art links, and case studies from around the world.

Public Art/Public Art On The Net
This British website has articles, book reviews, message boards, and links to other public art websites. They also maintain a public art listserv on egroups.com, which you can sign up for at this site. www.zpub.com/public/.

This is the only national journal dedicated to public art published by Forecast Public Artworks. The publication's website is www.publicartreview.org. Rhizome: Rhizome is an online community for people who are interested in new media art andart that uses new media technology. Save Outdoor Sculpture! is a private/public initiative to document all monuments and outdoor sculpture in the United States and to help communities and local groups of all ages and interests preserve their sculptural legacy for the next century. They offer planning tools, care guides, educational materials and programs, and other services. Sculpture Parks and Gardens Map
Artist Benbow Bullock has created a map listing sculpture parks and gardens worldwide available on his website at www.artnut.com/intl.html.

Sculpture Magazine

Visual Artists Rights Act/Copyright Law
There are several websites that have useful information pertaining to VARA and copyright law, including the OCEAN STATE LAWYERS FOR THE ARTS, www.artslaw.org, and the US Copyright Office of the Library of Congress, lcweb.loc.gov/copyright/.

The College Art Association presented the panel "Beyond Copyright Do Artists Have Rights? A Discussion on the Visual Artists Rights Act (VARA)" at its 90th Annual Convention in February, 2002.
