Award Deadlines
A joint selection committee will review each nominee’s contribution to the advancement of the arts based on the nomination form below.

The deadline for submitting nominations for the Gubernatorial, Mayoral, and Congressional awards has passed. These award categories will be reopened to begin receiving nominations for 2009 in the fall.

Award Presentation Dates
Americans for the Arts is seeking nominations for the 2008 National Leadership in the Arts Awards. Currently, the County (Governing Board), Lieutenant Governor, and State Legislator categories are open for nominations. The County (Governing Board) Award will be presented at the National Association of Counties (NACO) annual meeting in Kansas City, July 11–15, 2008. The Lieutenant Governor Award is presented in partnership with the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) at their annual meeting in Buffalo, NY, July 23–26, 2008. The State Legislators Award is presented in partnership with the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) at their annual meeting in New Orleans, July 22–26, 2008.

The Gubernatorial and Mayoral Awards will be presented at the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) meeting in Miami, June 20–24, 2008. The Congressional Award will be presented at the Congressional Arts Breakfast during Arts Advocacy Day in Washington, DC, on April 1, 2008.
