In their 2014 edition of Giving in Minnesota, the Minnesota Council on Foundations presents an analysis of Minnesota's largest grantmakers. Breaking charitable organizations into Individuals, Corporate Foundations, Private Foundations, and Community and Public Foundations, the Minnesota Council on Foundations compares trends and changes in dollars, subject area and location of grants given, and of grantmaker preferences in Minnesota in the last ten years. We find that collectively, most grants are donated by individuals, and that overall, education receives the most financial sponsorship.
