2016 Gala for the Best Businesses Partnering with the Arts
On October 5, business and arts leaders gathered at the Central Park Boathouse in New York City to honor the best businesses partnering with the arts in America at Americans for the Arts’ 12th annual BCA 10 awards.   Learn more about the companies recognized this year and see them featured in the October 4 issue of Forbes magazine.

pARTnership Movement Chambers of Commerce Tool Kit
How does your mission align with that of your local chamber of commerce, and how can you partner to benefit the arts, business, and community development sectors? A new tool kit from the pARTnership Movement, based on interviews with several practitioners in the field, examines how your peers have formed working relationships with their local chambers, and outlines concrete steps and tips for doing the same in your community.

  • Recently, WNYC’s Charlie Herman sat with Ford Foundation’s Darren Walker to discuss the perils of low funding for the arts—and why it should matter to everyone who wishes to preserve the vibrancy that NYC is known for. In his opening statements, he asserted “Without artists, NYC is in many ways without life,” later adding that art is, “the lifeblood of the city.”
     
  • In the world of arts funding, the starring roles are often played by banks, with the lead role in the hands of Bank of America Corporation, a 2012 BCA 10 honoree. As a Founding Member of the Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC and Global Sponsor of the Chicago Symphony, Bank of America’s arts scope reigns vast and inclusive. In fact, 22 percent of performing arts organizations have reported a partnership with Bank of America.

2016 National Survey of Business Support for the Arts
The 2016 National Survey of Business Support for the Arts, conducted by The Conference Board and Americans for the Arts, is now open for submissions. The survey is open to businesses of all sizes who participate in corporate philanthropy, employee engagement, volunteer programs, or sponsorship. The results of the survey help you make the case of the value of arts and business partnerships and provide information to create new arts and businesses partnerships. Please share the survey with businesses in your community and encourage them to participate.
 
The Arts Deliver a Competitive Edge to Business in Miami 
The Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs, the Arts & Business Council of Miami, and the Beacon Council recently partnered to conduct a survey to assess the private sector's attitudes about and support for the arts in greater Miami-Dade, FL. Read more and see results
