Brian Stokes Mitchell is a Tony Award-winning actor, singer and music producer who has garnered numerous accolades for his artistry on Broadway, television, film and the concert world. Broadway credits include Shuffle Along, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown; Man of La Mancha (Tony Award nomination, Helen Hayes Award), August Wilson’s King Hedley II (Tony nomination), Kiss Me, Kate (Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards), Ragtime (Tony nomination), Kiss of the Spider Woman, Jelly’s Last Jam, Oh, Kay!, and Mail (Theatre World Award). Off-Broadway: Much Ado About Nothing (Delacorte Theater) and The Bandwagon, Kismet, Do Re Mi, and Carnival at City Center Encores!. 40 years of Film/TV include Jumping the Broom, The Prince of Egypt (singing “Through Heaven’s Eyes”), and more recently recurring roles on Glee, Madam Secretary, The Path, and Mr. Robot. Concert venues include: Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Disney Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Hollywood Bowl, and Tanglewood, His latest performance at the White House, “A Celebration of American Creativity”, was aired in 2016 on PBS. Stokes has appeared on more than 20 albums, his most recent being his second solo album Simply Broadway, and a hit recording of What The World Needs Now with other members of the Broadway community to help those affected by the tragedy at The Pulse club in Orlando, Florida. He is currently in the studio completing his latest album, Plays With Music which will be released in the Spring of 2017. In 2016 Stokes was awarded his second Tony award for his work as Chairman of the Board of The Actors Fund as well as being inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame.
