Description:

This project transformed utilitarian beige aluminum vent structures into a visually enticing, thoughtfully written public art project in an underused downtown Atlanta plaza. It also is bringing attention to the under told history of women - American hero Harriet Tubman, the Underground Railroad, its Quilt Code, and the work of eight Atlanta women's groups whose work mirrors Tubman's today. The project is so successful, that at the end of the exhibition, the Underground Atlanta organization requested that the piece remain on display semi-permanently.
