Building the Cultural Mosaic of Broward County: Broward County Cultural Plan

This is a culminating report, after two years of cultural planning, on the state of the arts in Broward County, Florida, the 16th largest county in the U.S. The county has pioneered a number of developmental approaches to arts and culture including:

  • providing a strategic support base for regional and emerging organizations;
  • supporting cultural tourism; and
  • developing major cultural facilities.

The goal of this cultural plan is to address the needs of this growing and diversifying county population by recording the communitys intent and focusing on specific actions. Those needs are:

  • to secure commitments to additional leadership;
  • forge more partnerships between the culture sector and other sectors; and
  • build access to working capital and capital investments of long-term financial assets and facilities.

The report includes the following:

  • Executive Summary.
  • Recommendations for Action.
  • New Financial Resources Needed and Cultural Plan Entities and Relationships.
