Future Issues in Collective Bargaining

GENERAL

Research Abstract
Future Issues in Collective Bargaining
A panel discussion on future issues of collective bargaining in art organizations. There are tough issues ahead - issues that affect both artists and managers, issues that affect the collective bargaining process. The impact of technology and high-tech changes such as high-definition television are all part of it. In addition, other issues flow from this - the effect of overexposure of artistic products through cable television, direct satellite, home use, and so forth. We also have a host of issues surrounding the delicate balance between the arts institution as the creator of products, and the product itself which has a life far beyond that institution. I am not going to list all these problems. Instead, I am going to ask our panel members, one at a time, to tell about their concerns.: (Professor Chandler).
