The first three chapters of our book describe the nonprofit universe, in terms of its population, services, characteristics, unique features, and the range of entities within it. In Chapter 3, you can assess how well your interests and values match up with opportunities in the nonprofit world. Chapters 4 through 9 provide portraits of the executive director position, the development office, the program departments, membership activities, publications, public relations, and all the administrative services, including finance, accounting, personnel, office management, and data processing.
