This report is based on a two-and-a-half-day workshop held from the 24th to the 26th of June 2001 at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. The topic of the workshop was Research in the Arts and Cultural Industries in the U.S. and in Europe. The aim of the meeting was to compare the states of arts and cultural research on both sides of the Atlantic, so that transatlantic collaborations could be considered and developed.
