The Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission presents a Cultural Business Plan to facilitate initiatives that support community participation in the arts, sustain growth and increase awareness of arts activity in the region for both residents and visitors. To determine the "key factors impacting cultural development in the region," SMAC commissioned numerous assessments and studies over the course of two years. Completed by ArtsMarket, Inc. and Eduardo Diaz, consultant, the primary areas of research include the available arts market, current financial conditions of art and cultural organizations and the economic impact of the arts in the region. All recommendations included in the Cultural Business Plan are based on the resulting research data. A complete summary of the goals, conclusions and recommendations are included in the appendices.
