GENERAL
Paper presented at the Third International Conference on Cultural Economics and Planning, sponsored by the Association for Cultural Economics, held in Akron, Ohio, April 25-28, 1984.
This paper traces the history of how the New Jersey Cultural Center at the Meadowlands grew from an academic idea to something approaching reality. Following an historical perspective this paper discusses the political and financial strategies that were considered when seeking support for the project and then discusses the current status of the project and the steps that will be taken next. Finally the economic impact of the proposed cultural center on the State is presented. (p. 73)
