This document provides an overview of research findings and data supporting the role that the arts play in:

  • Offering positive alternatives to youth-at-risk.
  • Developing a creative workforce to keep business competitive in the global marketplace.
  • Promoting tourism.
  • Strengthening community revitalization and economic development efforts.

Advocates can use this information as evidence of the benefits of public investment in the arts and to encourage further support of the arts in public policy.
