GENERAL

Research Abstract
Youth Outcome Evaluation Report: YouthReach Colorado, 2008

This evaluation by Colorado Creative Industries (formerly the Colorado Council on the Arts) assesses the success of its 2008 Spring and Fall YouthReach programming through specific criteria, including students' feelings of safety, support and engagement during one semester of a YouthReach program in order to gauge student reactions, learning outcomes and feelings towards the program. The surveys used in this evaluation also show the benefits and effectiveness of the arts activities themselves, asking students if they felt they gained artistic skill, if they feel more capable of expressing themselves and if they  better understand what it means to work as an artist.

This report about YouthReach's 2008 programming shares student completed surveys evaluating the effectiveness and success of YouthReach programs. We find namely, that the majority of students who participated have better feelings towards themselves, find themselves caring more about others, and feel more capable of making friends after completing one semester of the program.
