Arts education transforms societies, but how? In many ways, but one way that Americans for the Arts' CEO and President, Bob Lynch, focuses on in his op ed to the Huffington Post is by creating a larger and more innovative workforce.

Arts education in high schools increases graduation rates, and once students graduate, those who have been educated in the arts are more likely to be employed and thus contribute to bettering the economy. Multiple studies, referenced in Lynch's op ed, point to the arts preparing young professionals better for today's job market demands and the demands of the future.

"To prepare, protect, and equip today's workforce and that of the future, we must ensure that arts education remains a priority in our schools and in our lives."
