Local and national arts education supporters gather to support the #LoveArtsEd movement in our nation's capital

Monday, November 17, 2014

Americans for the Arts has partnered with Participant Media (producers of An Inconvenient Truth, Waiting for Superman, and The Help) to launch a campaign called #LoveArtsEd, which will raise visibility about the importance of including the arts in education.

On Monday, November 17, the #LoveArtsEd movement is gaining momentum right here in D.C.! Arts education supporters are gathering for a screening of Freestyle Love Supreme, Pivot TV’s latest show featuring arts education in action, followed by a discussion that explores how a well told story can lead to social action—in this case, improving education through the arts.

A panel discussion will include:

  • Anthony Veneziale, Freestyle Love Supreme
  • Eva Bloomfield, Participant Media
  • Maureen Dwyer, Sitar Arts Center
  • Ethan Clark, National PTA
  • Lissa Rosenthal-Yoffe, DC Collaborative on Arts and Humanities Education
