Americans for the Arts is now accepting nominations of arts leaders from your community for the 2022 Annual Leadership Awards. These awards recognize the achievements of individuals, organizations, or programs committed to enriching their communities through the arts and are presented each year in conjunction with Annual Convention. In 2022, the conference will be held May 18-20, 2022 in Washington, D.C.

Award categories include the Alene Valkanas State Arts Advocacy Award, which honors an individual at the state level whose arts advocacy efforts have dramatically affected the political landscape; the American Express Emerging Leader Award, recognizing visionary leadership by an individual who is a new and/or young arts leader who demonstrates an ability to engage and impact their community; and the Selina Roberts Ottum Award, honoring an individual working in arts management who has made a meaningful contribution to their local community and who exemplifies extraordinary leadership qualities.

Nominations close Friday, April 8, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. ET. You must be a member of Americans for the Arts to submit nominations; nominees, however, are not required to be members of Americans for the Arts. Members must log in to their Americans for the Arts account to submit a nomination. If you have any difficulties logging in or accessing your membership, please reach out to [email protected].

Each award has its own evaluation criteria. Be sure to review the rules and regulations for each award before submitting your nomination. Visit the Annual Awards page for more information or to submit a nomination.
