Arts advocates from across the United States will gather virtually March 28-30, 2022, for the National Arts Action Summit, now in its 35th consecutive year. Hosted by Americans for the Arts in collaboration with dozens of national, state, and local organizational partners, the National Arts Action Summit is the largest gathering of its kind, bringing together a broad cross section of America’s cultural and civic organizations to underscore the importance of developing strong public policies and appropriating increased public funding for the arts and culture.

At the National Arts Action Summit, advocates gain a depth of knowledge from policy experts and field leaders and learn compelling up-to-the-minute data, the latest in arts policy, and how to effectively engage decisionmakers to support the arts and arts education. Registered attendees will receive access after the event to watch recordings of Summit sessions and refresh their learning. 

Event attendees also get unique opportunities to connect with other advocates from their state and across the country. In the weeks following the virtual Summit, attendees will be invited to join state arts leaders to meet with their members of Congress and advocate for support of pro-arts issues.

For 2022, with input from Americans for the Arts’ Task Force for Racial and Cultural Equity, innovations around this long-standing event are designed to make it more accessible and impactful. This year, for the first time, there will be no registration fee to attend the National Arts Action Summit for both individuals and partner organizations.

In addition, advocacy training at the 2022 event will center on the annual appropriations process and the seven creative workforce bills currently being considered by Congress. By reducing the issues presented at the Summit, policy leaders and attendees can develop a more compelling and straightforward advocacy strategy, keeping focus on increasing resources to underrepresented and marginalized communities in the creative sector.
