Registration for the 2020 program is open through Friday, Jan. 31

Tuesday, January 14, 2020

High school art students are invited to participate in the eleventh year of Vans Custom Culture, a program that provides high school artists and students a platform to embrace and showcase their creative abilities and the chance to win a grand prize of $75,000 for their school’s art program.

In addition to the grand prize winner, this year the top five runner-up schools will receive an artist mentorship program equaling one lesson in school from one of the following Vans’ art ambassadors: Kelly Breez, Robin Eisenberg, Todd Francis, Penelope Gazin, or Jay Howell.

Now through January 31, public and private high school art teachers and administrators can register their school on the Vans Custom Culture website to be one of 500 schools vying to win the grand prize. Selected schools will design two blank pairs of shoes illustrating the themes of “Local Flavor” and “Off the Wall,” and a public vote will determine the top five finalists.

The grand prize-winning school will receive a surprise visit from Vans and its partners — YoobiAmericans for the Arts and Journeys — for a lunchtime celebration filled with giveaways and a presentation of the $75,000 check.
