As the coronavirus pandemic works its way through our communities, it is leaving lasting effects on arts education. School districts across the country are currently tasked with generating support and responding to funding cuts for arts education for the 2020-2021 school year. Leaders representing schools and districts, arts organizations, city and state agencies, teachers, parents, and other community members can all become advocates for arts education being an essential part of recovery for our communities during challenging times.

Americans for the Arts is introducing our new Arts Education Action Kit, an aggregate of tools and resources anyone can use to become an advocate for arts education. The kit features information on advocacy strategies, messaging, and research to improve the availability and quality of arts education in schools and communities. Use these resoures in your arts education advocacy and make the case for why arts education needs to be fully funded in your local schools now, and always.
