October is National Arts & Humanities Month (NAHM)! Throughout the month, several members of Congress have taken to social media to join in Americans for the Arts’ trending Instagram campaign to #ShowYourArt and encourage all Americans to partake in the vibrant and varied art happening locally and across the country, including Arts Caucus co-Chair Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-NY), Humanities Caucus co-Chair Rep. David Price (D-NC), Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA), Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN), Rep. Susan Davis (D-CA), Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), and Rep. Niki Tsongas (D-MA)!

NAHM is the largest annual celebration of the arts and humanities in the nation—a coast-to-coast collective recognition of the importance of culture in America with partnering artists, arts administrators, curators, professional networks, journalists, students & more. On the eve of NAHM, the White House issued its annual official Presidential Proclamation recognizing October as National Arts and Humanities Month, building on decades of support in Congress. Events are happening across the country throughout the month. Use this real-time mapping tool to check for a 2014 National Arts & Humanities Month event in your area.
