The Lincoln Center NYC Posts Openings for Veterans

Tuesday, September 29, 2015

The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts has current job openings for veterans, according to Ed Walsh, Veterans and Community Relations Manager.  As an expression of thanks to those who have served our country, the Lincoln Center Veterans initiative offers attendance opportunities, discount tours, special events, and employment opportunities to active duty personnel and veterans of the US Armed Forces.

Most recently, the Lincoln Center made scholarship opportunities available to veterans interested in attending Summer Forum, an outstanding professional development workshop for educators and artists. The Lincoln Center is also venue for Veteran Artist Program (VAP) productions such as The Home Show on November 12, featuring an all-star line-up of professional veteran artists in music, theater, film, dance, poetry, and prose.

Ed Walsh, currently the Lincoln Center's Veterans and Community Relations Manager, is a Marine Corps veteran and was deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is serving as a Mission Continues Fellow at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in support of the Veterans Initiative and an active member of The Mission Continues Bronx Service Platoon. Walsh doesn't want veterans to simply be audience members.  He said, " I want them to be performers, writers, directors, and producers..."

In keeping with the commitment to providing veterans with employment opportunities through the arts, Walsh is posting the following positions available to veterans at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts: Associate Director, Events; Deputy Counsel; Digital Art Director; Editorial Director; Engineer; PR and Media Strategy; Program Associate; Senior Accountant; Senior UX; Senior Marketing Manager, Database; and the Assistant Director of Construction. Job descriptions, responsibilities, and qualifications can be found at Employment: Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts

For Veterans Preference: send a cover letter (with salary requirement) and resume to [email protected].  Please list the job title in the subject line. Resumes without cover letters will not be considered.
