This project is the Utah Unified State Laboratories, housing the Utah Crime Labs, Medical Examiner and the Agriculture / Food Labs. The work created by Douwe Blumberg, Convergence, is an assembly of varying parts towards the realization of a shimmering reference to a figure. The work is the artist's response to the facility and the work of scientists, laboratories and employees all working toward one goal....the search for truth.

The sculpture measures 20' x 15' x 15'

This exterior sculpture is sited to the south landscaping of the State Laboratory and near to walking / running path and road serving the complex of State facilities. It is also in the flight path for much of Salt Lake International Airport incoming flights.

2,500 cast aluminum / magnesium allow rings of three different sizes. The sculpture is affixed to the base with stainless steel anchoring and is wire-braced using stainless steel wire rope and turnbuckles.
