02-11-2011: Before bringing the legislation to the House floor, House Appropriations Committee leaders made even deeper cuts to the NEA and dozens of other programs and agencies in H.R. 1, the long term funding proposal for FY 2011.  The proposed cut to the NEA is now set at $22.5 million, leaving the endowment with a $145 million budget. This dramatic proposal would be the largest cut to the agency in 16 years.
