09-23-2010: The House of Representatives passed a resolution recognizing the 50th anniversary of Americans for the Arts. Reps. Louise Slaughter (D-NY) and Todd Platts (R-PA), co-chairs of the Congressional Arts Caucus, introduced H. Res 1582 to highlight Americans for the Arts' commitment in servicing local arts agencies, arts advocacy, arts education, and the groundbreaking cultural sector economic research that has become the hallmark of Americans for the Arts for 50 years. Reps. Jared Polis (D-CO), Vern Ehlers (R-MI), and Rush Holt (D-NJ) also made statements in support of the resolution. Watch video of the floor debate here.
