Business Contributions to the Arts Survey
Since the release of the Business Contributions to the Arts survey earlier this summer, the trends in business support and employee engagement for the arts continue to be explored. Take a look at the article and blog below.
  • “Want Happy and Productive Employees? Give Them Meaningful Art Experiences” by Mike Scutari for Inside Philanthropy which cites from the survey "as employee engagement becomes a priority for companies, many of them are turning to the arts in an effort to fuel attraction and retention."

  • “Increased Corporate Contributions to the Arts Are No Certainty” by Alex Parkinson for ARTSBlog discusses how arts organizations are in the right position to maneuver for a bigger part of the philanthropic pie, but they face a number of challenges—not least the fact that competition for philanthropic funds is likely to intensify. As the arts enter a heightened competitive funding environment against any number of other social issues, will artists be forced to stifle their creativity to attract funding from businesses that are increasingly nervous about entering the firing line of an unconventional administration?
Call for Submissions - Looking for Business Voices!
We are looking to hear from individuals from the business sector representing businesses from all sizes, industries, and locations with thoughts or responses to the BCA survey findings. Americans for the Arts Releases New Employee Engagement Workbook on limeSHIFT’s Corporate Art Activations
The latest employee engagement workbook focuses on one of the many ways arts organizations can work with businesses: corporate art activations. This concept lives under employee engagement as culture building or creativity training as well as physical space transformation. Brooklyn-based limeSHIFT has developed a methodology for delivering this type of engagement through visual or experiential art that focuses on increasing employees’ capacities to work collectively and collaboratively with empathy, from a heightened state of attention and observation, and with a newfound ability to innovate and change. limeSHIFT’s art activations work at the intersection of people and place, stimulating both through purpose. Underlying this work is a client-driven service solution that aims to help organizations achieve their goals.
