Companies like Facebook, Amtrak, and software company Autodesk are inviting artists to join their teams and advance their businesses though unique collaborations and partnerships. Private Sector Network Upcoming Blog Salon on Corporate Social Responsibility and the Arts Business, community, and arts leaders will write about the role of arts in corporate social responsibility as part of Americans for the Arts blog salon from April 27–May 1. Recently, Americans for the Arts’ Animating Democracy program released a new report, Corporate Social Responsibility and the Arts, which brings into relief the current landscape of corporate support for arts and culture. We will continue this conversation through this blog salon by highlighting other exemplary models and approaches that advance both healthy society and healthy business. According to the latest numbers from Americans for the Arts’ Creative Industries report, nationally, 702,771 businesses are involved in the creation or distribution of the arts, and they employ 2.9 million people. This represents 3.9 percent of all U.S. businesses and 1.9 percent of all U.S. employees.
