Mr. John W. Haworth
John Haworth received the 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award, Guardians of Culture and Lifeways International Awards presented by the Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums at their annual conference in October. He is a national leader in the Arts & Cultural Sector with experience in cultural policy, Native American arts, museum management, and public art. Haworth is the Senior Executive Emeritus at the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian, where he directed NMAI-NY for over 20 years, and has lectured and written extensively about cultural policy and Native American issues over the years. Haworth is a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.
