Description:

This mosaic wall is comprised of sgraffito tile, broken tile, and cut mirror. The project was executed by the Creative Vision Factory, a behavioral health drop in art center in Wilmington, Delaware. Creative Vision Factory artists earn $15/hr as they work on these projects, from slab rolling to workshop instruction, and to the eventual installation of the mosaic wall-- at every turn the Creative Vision Factory artists are positioned as the experts as they facilitate collaboration with the broader community and the client. The Shortlidge Academy mosaic wall was made in partnership with Delaware Children and Families First with funding from Capital One. 12 sgraffito tile workshops were held at the school over 200 students, faculty, and staff contributed custom sgraffito tiles to the project.
