The satirical drawings, comics, and textiles by Chicago-based artist Jessica Campbell (Canadian, b. 1985) take aim at everyday experiences that reveal the sexism women face in the 21st century. Drawing from a wide range of influences including science fiction, art-world politics, and her Evangelical upbringing, she infuses her work with humor and vulnerability. Her recently published graphic novels include Hot or Not: 20th-Century Male Artists (2016) and XTC69 (2018).

The Joe McCauley Gallery at Heartland Community College presents Megan Hinds: Altered Formations from September 10 through November 9. Altered Formations features Hinds' abstract intaglio prints that are hand cut and layered to convey multiple, atmospheric perspectives. Hinds' work is inspired by her ongoing investigation of nature's collective brilliance. The Oak Park Concert Chorale (OPCC), led by director Paul Lindblad, is hosting a Early Music Choral Festival on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Oak Park Public Library – Main Branch, 834 Lake Street in Oak Park. The Early Music Festival begins at 10:00 am until noon, followed by a short performance in the library. The workshop, which is free and open to the public, is intended for singers who are interested in singing madrigals, cannons and other early choral music. No experience is required.

Snow City Arts has been providing arts education and creative inspiration to youth in Chicagoland hospitals for 20 years! Come celebrate our 20th anniversary at our A Room Without Walls series of special pop up events around Chicago. ArtsMANIA! is an arts expo for the 58 partner organizations under the umbrella of Arts Quincy, America's First Arts Council (formerly Quincy Society of fine Arts).
This event takes place at the Quincy Mall on Saturday, October 3 from 12-4:00 pm in Quincy, Illinois.  
There will be performances, workshops, and all of our partners will be there to provide programming information, season tickets/class registration, and volunteer opportunities.

OPCC’s spring concert honors prominent local composers Paul Bouman and Carl Schalk. Both are known for their numerous contributions to choral music, and choirs throughout the world have performed their compositions. They have a profound influence on the many facets of church music, especially in the Lutheran denomination. Our concert will showcase recent compositions by both composers, who have continued to write new music throughout their retirement.

Madhuvanti Ghose, Alsdorf Associate Curator of Indian, Southeast Asian, Himalayan, and Islamic Art at the Art Institute of Chicago, will discuss the art of Kashmir prior to the period covered by ‘Collecting Paradise’ as a way of contextualizing the exhibition. She will speak about the impact of Gandharan art on the origins of an indigenous Kashmiri style of art from the 5th century to the period where ‘Collecting Paradise’ picks up the narrative.
