Having already awarded a total of $85,000 to organizations in Tacoma, WA; Fort Collins, CO; Lanesboro, MA; Bethlehem, PA; and Washington, DC earlier this year, there are 58 organizations vying for the $15,000 Viewer's Choice Award on Facebook.

Board Member Liz Lerman Launches National Civil War Project

Liz Lerman, renowned choreographer and Americans for the Arts board member, is launching a new project commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.

The National Civil War Project begins on March 6 and events will take place throughout the DC/Baltimore Metro area for the next two years.

The 41st John Coltrane Memorial Concert (JCMC) is a special holiday celebration, honoring two master JCMC alumni, Bill Pierce and Stan Strickland, and featuring the 14-piece JCMC Ensemble, with host Eric Jackson. Further information can be found at www.friendsofjcmc.org.

Harwich Cultural Center will host their Second Annual Holiday Open House, part of town-wide Christmas in Harwich celebrations, on Saturday, December 1 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. Enchanted Circle is celebrating National Arts in Education Week with the unveiling of The Secret Stream Story Walk, a public art and advocacy campaign created with 5th grade students at Holyoke’s Sullivan School to raise awareness of Day Brook, an underground stream in Holyoke that flows into the Connecticut River.
The Story Walk unveiling will take place on Thursday September 14th at 1:15pm at Sullivan School in Holyoke.

Greenfield, Massachusetts will be holding an Arts Conversation on November 6, 2017 from 6-8 pm at 114 Main Street, Greenfield, MA. 
With the designation of our Cultural District and the purchase of the First National Bank on Bank Row, Greenfield is stepping into a new arena with regard to the Arts. We welcome one and all to join us to engage in a conversation about what that means for the town. We also want to talk about the ways that grants from the Greenfield Local Cultural Council may help further these ideas.
