Through the curatorial direction of Lance Fung, public parks emerged through the lens of contemporary art amidst towering casinos, urban blight, and the ocean spray of the South Jersey shore. Located along the historic boardwalk, the location features two grass mounds interwoven into a giant earthwork creating a unique setting for installations by Robert Barry, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov and Kiki Smith. ARTLANTIC was recognized by the 2013 Public Art Network Year in Review which annually recognizes outstanding public art projects that represent the most compelling work for the year from across the country.
