In Northwest Arkansas, the arts are a source of entertainment, fulfillment, and community. But they’re also a multimillion-dollar industry.

According to Arts and Economic Prosperity 5, a new study by Americans for the Arts, nonprofit arts and culture organizations in Benton and Washington Counties generated $131,197,094 in economic activity in 2015. This figure includes spending by the arts organizations themselves, as well as spending by audience members and event attendees.

Americans for the Arts collected local data in partnership with the Walton Arts Center. Northwest Arkansas was one of 341 study regions nationwide.
