In an article about Kevin Spacey's real-life presence in Washington D.C., which predates his role on the television show "House of Cards," Robert Lynch was quoted speaking about Spacey's role in advocating for arts funding at the 2012 Arts Advocacy Day.

In 2011, Congress voted to lop off a quarter of the National Endowment for the Art's $168-million budget. “We knew we weren’t going to be able to hold onto that [funding] when the new Congress came in,” says Robert Lynch, president of the advocacy group Americans for the Arts. “But the House brought it down to $124 million. That was a significant loss.”

Kevin Spacey attended Americans for the Arts annual Arts Advocacy Day 2012 with other Artist Committee members and artist advocates like Alec Bladwin and Kerry Washington.
