Residents of Savannah, Georgia have always known that the arts play a vital role in their community, but now they have the numbers to back it up.

Arts and Economic Prosperity 5, a new study by Americans for the Arts, shows that nonprofit arts and culture organizations contribute more than $135.9 million per year to Savannah’s economy. Americans for the Arts partnered with the City of Savannah Department of Cultural Affairs to collect data from 45 local arts nonprofits and to collect 793 audience spending surveys.
