Logo for Creative Stays, which resembles a vintage motel sign with its font and diamond shape. Below the logo text reads: Artistic itineraries in and around Colorado Springs.

The Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region recently launched Creative Stays to attract cultural tourists to Colorado Springs and the surrounding community. Perfect for out-of-town visitors and local residents, Creative Stays offers a variety of new ways to explore and enjoy some of the wonderful attractions and amenities that the Pikes Peak region has to offer.

Funded by a $20,000 grant from the Colorado Tourism Office, and with content creation by Springs Media and JasonFleming.com, Creative Stays features a series of weekend getaway itineraries curated by 13 diverse local creatives, including painters, poets, actors, opera singers, musicians, graphic designers, and arts administrators. Each itinerary features recommendations of the local creatives’ favorite lodging accommodations, community attractions, restaurants, entertainment activities, hidden hangouts, and not-to-miss cultural destinations.

The inspiration for the program came directly from Arts Vision 2030, the recently released 10-year cultural plan for the Pikes Peak region which includes the City of Colorado Springs and El Paso and Teller counties. The first four Creative Stays itineraries are now available at cosCreativeStays.com, including “Near and Queer to Our Hearts in Colorado Springs” and “A Local Poet and Nerd’s Tour of the Springs.” An additional nine itineraries will be added over the coming months.
