WASHINGTON, D.C. — Americans for the Arts will be joined by more than 500 grassroots advocates from across the country on March 24–25, 2014, as they meet with members of Congress to encourage support of arts funding and education. Arts Advocacy Day is made possible by 85 national cosponsors, and is produced to create positive action on the many issues facing the arts in 2014, including tax reform, budget cuts and education reauthorization.

The Arts & Science Council (ASC) in Charlotte, NC has selected Robert E. Bush Jr. as their next president. Bush, a nationally known and highly regarded leader in the arts, joined ASC in 2000. Bush served on the founding governing and national policy boards of Americans for the Arts, which merged the former American Council for the Arts and the National Assembly of Local Arts Agencies in the 1990s.

The NABE Foundation, the charitable arm of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE), and Americans for the Arts, the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts and arts education, jointly announced that Yili Zhou has won the 2014 NABE Foundation Americans for the Arts Scholarship Award on Monday, February 24, during a luncheon at the 2014 NABE Policy Conference in Arlington, VA.
